For a small school there are excellent opportunities and a wide range of subjects at GCSE and A-level including, for example, computer science, electronics and business studies. Small classes and generous allocations ensure core subjects are well-taught.
Games & The Arts
A strong tradition in performing arts (the school has its own Victorian theatre) with performances for all ages. sport and music have high levels of participation as well as many talented performers. Dedicated specialist coaching and teachers, an extended day and expectations of staff mean a rich extra-curricular provision.
The school is noted for its friendly, caring atmosphere both for boarding and day pupils. This is backed up with a developed House system that builds on the strengths of the school. Parents choose Tettenhall College for their children to be recognised and develop as individuals. Academic performance is important but not the sole criterion in their choice of school.
As befits a non-selective school a wide range from local apprenticeships to Oxbridge.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
To strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for the pupils in our care be it in the classroom or in any of the many opportunities presented to our pupils. Above all, we want our pupils to be content but challenged and to look back with satisfaction at their school days. This requires constant work and effort.
