The Curriculum

We are committed to encouraging the growth of intellectual curiosity, creativity and independent learning, whilst also preparing each pupil for the best possible examination results, through a broadly based, coherent and balanced curriculum. Beyond academic results, we celebrate intellectual curiosity and foster a culture in which pupils feel inspired to take a genuine interest in the world around them.

Games & The Arts

We have an outstanding reputation for excellence in sport and high participation rates across all levels. Our pupils’ commitment, enthusiasm and enjoyment of their sporting life is testament to the manner in which our coaching staff balance excellence and inclusivity.

Our Music Department is one of the best-known in Britain and pupils can take part in over 50 different ensembles. In 2012, we became London’s first All-Steinway secondary school, and our internationally acclaimed Trinity Boys’ Choir continues to perform at venues such as Glyndebourne and the Royal Opera House, and has recorded the soundtracks for several major films.

Pastoral Care

Students grow best when they feel safe and free to express themselves.  All students receive carefully considered support and advice at each stage of their school career, tailored to their particular needs and circumstances. Pastoral care at Trinity is nurtured through our Form Tutors, Heads of Year and Head of Pastoral Care.

University Places

Nearly all of our students go on to secure places in the country’s top universities, and others have also secured places in top universities abroad, including scholarships in the USA. In 2017 and 2018, 14 students received offers from Oxford and Cambridge.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

Trinity students should leave us ready to make a difference.  We want to shape confident, teachable and passionate young people, but who carry no sense of entitlement. We can open doors for them to the world’s best universities, colleges and careers, and equally they can learn the compassion to care for others.

Outstanding Characteristics

  • Caring deeply – we are proud of our reputation for providing outstanding pastoral care and valuing each student as an individual. In the last two years, 100% of our new parents have said we achieve this.
  • Outstanding learning – our teaching is engaging and challenging, and our academic results regularly place Trinity among the top schools in the country.
  • Joining in – we have over 105 co-curricular clubs, valuing participation as much as excellence. From more traditional pursuits, including sport, music, and drama, we also offer activities including Trinity TV in our studio, Lego robotics and bee keeping.  We use our Outdoor Centre in the Brecon Beacons as a base for many trips.
  • Looking outwards – students play an active role in the local community, and we believe their doing so is central in preparation for making a meaningful contribution to whichever field they enter when they leave school.

In 2017 Trinity was ranked 41stin the Parent Power list of Top 100 Independent Schools in the UK, making it the top ranked independent school in Croydon for the second year in a row.
