The Curriculum

The Marist offers a forward-thinking learning environment, enabling all pupils to live life to the fullest. Our bespoke, broad, and innovative curriculum develops a life-long love of learning.

Games & the Arts

PE features prominently at The Marist and we pride ourselves on the wide variety of sports activities and clubs we offer. The Performing Arts are popular, with all pupils having the opportunity to partake in Music and Drama, alongside LAMDA.

Pastoral Care

We have a strong tradition of providing excellent pastoral care together with academic success. It is often said that good pastoral care is the oil of learning and a Marist education is characterised by positive relationships with others, resilience, and engagement with learning.

In 2020, we were awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS) highlighting our effective practice and provision promoting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of staff/pupils.

University Places

The majority of Marist students achieve their first choice of university.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

We believe that education is much more than the acquisition of knowledge. It also involves physical, spiritual, moral, cultural, social, and intellectual development in a vibrant learning environment.

Pupils will be inspired, challenged, supported, and encouraged across their journey of development, ensuring they become innovative, ambitious, leaders of the future.

Outstanding Characteristics

  • Extensive use of our 55 acres of woodland for recreation as well as outdoor learning, sport, and lessons.
  • Outstanding pastoral care alongside academic success.
  • Small class sizes.
  • Extended Co-curricular provision and Blended Learning (new for September 2021)
