Our prep school follows the international primary curriculum up to the age of 11. At the college we offer GCSE through to A-levels, as well as the Pre IB and IB Diploma. We have an extensive co-curricular programme of over 100 activities to choose from.
Games & The Arts
We have a long history of sporting success. Facilities include a swimming pool, tennis dome, 37 fitness station multi gym, golf course and Olympic size all weather pitch. Opportunities in music, art, drama, dance, stage management, photography are also on offer.
Pupils in our care are given the individual attention, resources and space in which to grow intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. They are encouraged to involve themselves fully in the opportunities on offer. They are also helped to develop those qualities of character that will distinguish them in later life as men and women for others. A Jesuit education nurtures individuality and encourages generosity.
Approximately half of students secure a place in a Russell Group University.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
‘Show me a boy at the age of seven, and I will show you the man’. The Jesuit approach to education inspires, nurtures and develops the child’s spiritual and emotional character that is the backbone to adulthood. At Stonyhurst we work hard at knowing every pupil so that we can challenge them academically and in other areas of life. We aspire to educational excellence and human competence giving our pupils that extra edge to go further in life.
