Games & The Arts
We give all our girls a love of sport and set them on the path of life-long physical activity. Whether they have a passion or unique talent in a particular discipline or excel across the board, we provide a tailored experience for each pupil.
Our pastoral care ensures pupils are equipped with the skills to confidently face the challenges of life beyond school. St Mary’s girls radiate an inner confidence and resilience borne of outstanding teaching and learning, strong spiritual formation, secure interpersonal skills and deep bonds of friendship. The values of Mary Ward, our founder who championed the role of women in society and spiritual life, lie at the heart of our community.
Recent University Places
In 2019 14 per cent of pupils were in receipt of and achieved Oxbridge places.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
My aim is to preserve and build on the great strengths and traditions of the school, but also to continue the reflective process of positive change and development which is necessary for an ambitious 21stcentury school. I am a passionate advocate of single-sex education for girls.
There is something remarkable and distinctive about ‘the St Mary’s girl’. St Mary’s girls are confident young women who are deeply articulate, reflective, creative, energetic, outward-looking and possess a strong set of values.
