Alongside teachers we also have a very effective peer mentoring scheme, a school counsellor, two school nurses, head of boys’ and head of girls’ pastoral care, independent listeners and a student support mentor.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy
We aim to nurture and encourage our young people, while at the same time challenging each one to be the best they can be. We focus very much on the individual, seeking to develop every child’s talents and instilling in each one intellectual curiosity and a love of learning.
- We recognise that girls and boys learn differently and offer a Diamond Education, teaching girls and boys together up to Year 3 and in the sixth-form, while educating them in separate single-sex classes from Years 3 -11. Meanwhile, boys and girls share numerous co-curricular activities and thus have the opportunity to grow up naturally together
- We are proud of our Royal Patronage and are privileged to have as our Patron Her Majesty The Queen. We are also very fortunate to have as our President HRH The Princess Royal, who visits our school regularly, taking a keen interest in our students and their progress
- We are also very proud of our naval heritage and our many links with the Royal Navy
- The Seven Characteristics of a Royal School pupil – The Seven Cs – Christianity, Curiosity, Creativity, Courage, Cooperation, Compassion, Commitment.
