Games & the Arts
We have an outstanding reputation for excellence in sport and high participation across the School. Equally as important is their understanding of healthy lifestyles and life-long fitness which we support pupils with through our enriching curriculum. The Arts are a strength at Royal Russell, with an outstanding music, drama and art programme, delivered from our state-of-the-art facilities.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy
Chris Hutchinson is committed to a total education for Royal Russell pupils – providing a rich education which helps them to strive for their vision of success, but never at the expense of others. In welcoming pupils to Royal Russell, Mr Hutchinson often quotes RJ Palacio’s book Wonder in that he would like pupils to be ‘Kinder than is necessary. Because it’s not enough to be kind. One should be kinder than needed.’
