As a small school what matters to us most is building a community in which children can thrive. Our assessment is therefore a mix of interview, baseline tests and a group activity. If a pupil has already undertaken baseline tests at their current school (e.g. Incas/Cat tests) then we would be happy to take these into consideration and not ask a pupil to take an additional exam. We’re delighted to announce that all founding pupils will receive a 20 per cent discount on all fees.

Alongside preparation for GCSES, our focus will be equally strong on life skills as preparation for the changing demands of the 21st-century workplace and the challenges of modern life.
Games & The Arts
We will help pupils join teams for mainstream sports whilst also offering sports that may sometimes be overlooked at larger schools – for example, fencing, water-polo, karate, yoga, and pilates. Art, music and dramatic performance will be an important part of a NorthWood Senior education.
NorthWood Senior will offer an alternative to education that’s driven by a focus on endless exam preparation; something that is particularly prevalent in London. As a small school, we can have a more bespoke approach and will provide an education that is not only academically excellent, but which equips pupils with the skills and experiences to face their future with confidence.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
Our pupils will know the joy of an education that is rounded, stimulating and healthy, both physically and mentally. An education where good grades are still important – along with healthy competition in sport, drama, music and the arts – but where the focus will be on developing the self, building reflective, community-minded young adults who have a passion for learning and the skill set to tackle the exciting future that awaits them.
NorthWood Senior will be the fourth school within the Northwood Schools family offering an education that is focused on getting the best out of each individual pupil, encouraging and nurturing their strengths, stimulating their curiosity, firing their passions, developing their community spirit and character within a mutually supportive and close-knit family school.
