School Visits: We encourage families to visit Knighton House so that we can meet one another. We have various events and open mornings throughout the year to attend, however we also offer 1:1 appointments to tour the school, tailored to your child’s interests.
Our ‘KED Curriculum’ (the ‘K’ of knowledge, the ‘E’ of enlightenment and the ‘D’ of discovery) moves us gradually away from ISEB Common Entrance. This move away from CE does not mean we are abandoning a syllabus; we will continue to use the best elements of both Common Entrance and the National Curriculum.
Games & the Arts
Sport is integral to our school life and we encourage pupils to enjoy and experience it through a varied programme.
There are several strands to our pastoral care at Knighton House School, but we take the well-being of our pupils as central to their ability to succeed in their learning and their relationships. Girls learn how to live together, to share, but to be independent and to develop self-confidence and self-reliance, always secure in the knowledge that they are valued and well cared for. Warm relationships between staff and girls enable even the more reserved to flourish.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy
To create deep seated and lasting confidence in girls and young women; providing a ‘home away from home’ where girls can flourish in an atmosphere of security, encouragement, space and freedom. At Knighton, girls lead — whether it is the student council or the hockey team.
Knighton House is a beautiful rural campus in the heart of Dorset. We attain excellent academic results while still providing a full extra-curricular programme. At the core of all we do here at Knighton House is our mission to help children gain the confidence and skills that will enable them to move to the next stage of their education well on the road to becoming happy and fulfilled adults.
