Head Teacher’s Philosophy

I believe children should be actively encouraged to create a sense of ownership over their education, constructing paths for them to help recognise and realise their true potential and develop their aspirations. Children respond positively to learning when it is made relevant and engaging and where creativity is nurtured.  It must be sufficiently challenging and delivered with energy and passion in a safe environment that is conducive to learning and exploration.  It holds true that a curriculum that inspires and engages pupils is of the upmost importance.  At Hawkesdown House School, high academic standards are matched with creativity, flair and imagination.

Outstanding Characteristics

Hawkesdown House is a school with a strong voice and an adventurous spirit. In a world where everything has grown bigger, often at a cost, we concentrate on knowing each pupil and understanding what is important to every family.  Parents are fiercely loyal to this philosophy: that it works is borne out in the excellent results and in the open, thoughtful and happy nature of the children.
