The academic curriculum offers GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-levels and Pre-U qualifications. Canford is proud of its reputation for academic rigour and high achievement. There is an extensive academic enrichment programme across all year groups which develops minds way beyond the confines of any exam syllabus.
Games & The Arts
Sport should be for all, and at Canford it is. Sports scholars receive additional specialist coaching, with regular England and GB representation. Art, music and drama thrive and are integral to school life, with co-curricular opportunities as well as academic choices. The school’s extensive Community Service programme promotes social responsibility, teamwork, resilience and leadership. Over 8,000 hours of Community Action were given by pupils to local, regional, national and international projects last year.
Ofsted rated the school ‘outstanding’ in its last inspection. ISI found the quality of pastoral care to be ‘excellent’ – the highest category – and a major strength of the school.
Over 95 per cent of leavers move on to university. 86 per cent of all university offers in 2018/19 were for Russell Group/Sunday Times Top 12 institutions. Over 100 places at Medical Schools in the past decade. Degree apprenticeships with PwC, Accenture and Goldman Sachs in past two years.

Around 30 per cent of the upper -sixth apply each year. A strong record of success, with 96 places in the past decade, including a number of scholarships.
