A co-educational pre-prep and prep school for children aged four to 11 years, Cameron House is located close to King’s Road in Chelsea.
Head of School: Dina Mallett
Head’s Philosophy: ‘Happy children thrive’. In life, as well as in school, the happier one is, the more open to learning, success and growth one will be.
It is important to understand what it is that makes a child happy in school: beyond lessons being fun, it is having the trust in your teachers that they will listen to you, help and advise you; the security that school is a caring environment; and the knowledge that the role of every adult in the building is to look after you.
We have high expectations of our children: the challenges that we set show them that we believe they can achieve them, instilling the confidence and drive to do so. We place great importance in kindness and respect being mutual. The children are well versed in the school’s moral code; they both abide by and appreciate it.
There is a tangible buzz of happiness at Cameron House School, which emulates from children, teachers and parents alike. We do have a great deal of fun here, whether in the classroom or playground, on the sports field, during one of our educational visits or many themed learning days.
During our Year Six leavers’ assembly, the children spoke of their memories of their past seven years at Cameron House School. None mentioned grammar lessons or the algebra they had learned, but of the opportunities to perform on stage, play in concerts, visit historic buildings, bond with their friends on residential trips and the roles of responsibility that they earned in their final year here.
It is not just the academics that are impressive but also the experiences that our children will take away with them. We make memories at Cameron House School – and they are happy ones!
