The conference marked ten years of contribution to educational excellence for the Pre Senior Baccalaureate (PSB), a leading charity that aims to provide the best learning framework for pupils from reception to year 8.

The conference drew an outstanding line up of speakers with big names from the sector including Jonnie Noakes, Director of Teaching and Learning at Eton College, Professor Bill Lucas from the University of Winchester and Victoria Bagnall of Connections in Mind. They were joined by leaders in the field of educational neuroscience; Julia Harrington, CEO of BrainCanDo and Patricia Riddell, Professor of Applied Neuroscience at the University of Reading.

Jon Chesworth, head of Banstead Prep School in Surrey spoke of the quality of the conference saying, “Without doubt the best line up at a day conference I’ve ever been to.”

The delegates eagerly heard from the speakers on topics spanning “Putting the zest back into learning” to “Tradition, innovation and evidence: where is the sweet spot?”. Queen Anne’s Senior Deputy Head Mark Richards who led the project in conjunction with PSB commented, “We have had a remarkable day of sharing the very best of teaching practices. Guests will return to their schools motivated for the next chapter and be adept in integrating the very best from tradition, modernity, creativity and innovation in teaching and learning.”

General Secretary of PSB, James Barnes thanked the school saying, “The conference was a wonderful affirmation of the impact PSB has made and we are most grateful to Queen Anne’s for providing us with such an excellent venue. In addition to a terrific programme of speakers it was also exciting to inform delegates about our new Skills based programme for Years 9 – 11 which we will be developing with leading senior schools from September.”

Head of Queen Anne’s, Elaine Purves said, “It was an honour to host alongside the PSB. Our prep school colleagues from across the UK were abuzz with forward-thinking ideas that leave me with confidence in the future of education.”
