Chichester School Pupils Deliver Hundreds of Presents to Local Women's Charity

Chichester school pupils have delivered hundreds of presents to a local women’s charity, My Sisters’ House

Six Year 8 pupils from Westbourne House School in Chichester visited the charity My Sisters’ House to drop off hundreds of Christmas presents this week.

After loading up the minibus at the Prep school and the Pre-Prep school, the children headed to the The Track in Bognor Regis to hand over the gifts to Michelle Sinclair and Elisabeth Coccia for My Sisters’ House’s Christmas Gifting appeal.

The charity already has over 300 women booked in to take part in their three Christmas gifting days where mums will be able to choose presents for their children from all the donations the charity has received from across West Sussex.

Westbourne House School Head of the Charity Committee, Helen Barker, said: ‘It was very important for the children to see the piles of unwrapped gifts today and realise how many families may be struggling this year to buy even one Christmas present. We are so glad we have been able to help My Sisters’ House and thank you to our parents and pupils who brought in the gifts.’

My Sisters’ House fundraising co-ordinator, Michelle Sinclair, said: ‘We are so very grateful for the donations from everyone at Westbourne House. It is truly heart-warming to see the community come together to support local families. These gifts will really make a difference to so many people this Christmas. Thank you so much.’

Pupils share their thoughts on the day:

Year 8 pupil, Natalia, said: ‘It is wonderful to know we are helping hundreds of families be able to give presents for Christmas.’

Year 8 pupil, Annie, said: ‘I feel very proud and glad about what we just did and it has made me realise how lucky I am. We hope all the families have a lovely Christmas.’

Year 8 pupil, Sarah, said: ‘It’s very important that families can choose presents for their children themselves, we hope we have helped to make their Christmas special.’

Year 8 pupil, Miguel, added: ‘I have enjoyed this experience because I know these presents will go into the hands of people who will really appreciate them.’
