The British Youth Music Theatre has added two extra courses for this summer due to unprecedented popularity.
6 fun-filled days of musical theatre this summer – what could be better?
British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) is the leading musical theatre company for young people, working across the UK and Ireland with West End professionals to offer unique opportunities and high-quality training. Since 2003 they have trained over 8,000 young people, with alumni including Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Lauren Samuels.
British Youth Music Theatre’s Musical Theatre Summer Camps offer young people the opportunity to break free after lockdown and catch up on all the fun and creativity they missed out on in 2020. It’s also a unique chance to experience making musical theatre for the first time in a totally safe and supported environment.
Each Summer Camp is a 6-day open-access fun-filled summer activity holiday providing intensive, creative training in musical theatre for anyone aged 11-17.
They are designed for young people looking to explore their potential and develop their acting, singing, movement, writing and instrumental playing abilities. Young people will train with top theatre professionals, make new friends from all over the UK and overseas, boost their performing skills and confidence and create a band-new show in just a week. Exciting stuff!
Each course will culminate in a 30-minute performance and all participants receive a Grade 6 Certificate in Musical Theatre from Trinity College London.
Developing skills in drama, acting, singing, movement, lyric writing and instrumental playing over summer can be extremely useful. The summer camps can even count towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award or Arts Award.
No auditions, previous experience or preparations are needed.
Places are still available on the following courses: London 5 | 26 – 31 July 2021; London 6 | 26 – 31 July 2021; Wiltshire 2 | 26- 31 July 2021
