Sinclair House School has done extremely well at the London Rocks Times Tables Competition, winning it with flying colours.

Working hard at Sinclair House

The pupils and teaching staff at Sinclair House School are incredibly excited to announce that they came in 1st place in London Rocks 2021 – a nationwide times tables competition run by the internationally renowned, award-winning app and learning platform, Times Tables Rock Stars, for Maths Week London 2021.

London Rocks, held over 5 days from 28th June to 2nd July, required children to correctly answer as many multiplication and division questions as possible, to give their class and school the best chance of winning.

The competition was fierce with almost 49 million questions answered collectively by 42,705 pupils from more than 350 schools and 3,519 classes around the country!

Molly Heery, Head of Maths at SHS says ‘I am so proud of the children in the Times Tables Rock Star group that participated in London rocks. The pupils worked so hard to achieve these awards both in and outside of school and showed such teamwork throughout the week. I sat in awe watching some of the children reach 130 correct times tables in the space of a minute.

‘We achieved one 1st and one 3rd place award and I couldn’t be prouder of the children who amazed me with their perseverance and dedication to their times tables. Well done SHS, bring on next year!’

Bruno Reddy, creator of TT Rock Stars says ‘The pupils excelled themselves throughout London Rocks. Not only did they engage in some friendly competition but there was also some clear improvements in their recall and speed as time went on. That’s always been our goal – to make learning maths basics so fun that pupils give it their all.’
